Hawai‘i Educational Resource Experts (H.E.R.E.) is a locally based, HIDOE-approved education partner with over 25 years of experience supporting public, charter, and private schools across the state. As a trusted provider on multiple statewide contracts, we work directly with schools and complex areas on every island to deliver Title IV-A aligned services that promote well-rounded education, safe and healthy schools, and the effective use of technology. Our work supports HIDOE’s Strategic Plan goals—including Goal 1.2 and Nā Hopena A‘o—and strengthens Tier 1 instruction, formative assessment, MTSS, and PBIS.
1. Well-Rounded Educational Opportunities
Support academic achievement, college readiness, and future-aligned pathways.
STEM, CTE & Life Skills Exploration Kits: Hands-on and digital programs integrating academics, career exploration, and essential life skills—such as independent living and employability—through career exploration kits.
Mastery-Based CTE & STEM Courses: Access over 1,200 digital courses across CTE, STEM, and elective pathways—enhanced with AR/VR tools and supported by official testing and proctoring services for industry-recognized certifications.
College Readiness & Test Prep: Blended curriculum for ACT, SAT, PreACT, and PSAT designed to drive measurable student growth using our evidence-based test prep model.
AP & Accelerated Coursework: Live virtual instruction is provided by highly qualified certified teachers in AP and honors-level courses, offering flexibility for scheduling and staffing and rural schools that lack on-site teachers.
Electives & Foreign Languages: Synchronous live virtual instruction provided by highly qualified certified teachers in world languages, music, the arts, and other electives—expanding access to enrichment opportunities with equitable learning opportunities.
STEM Electives Including Robotics: Instruction and curriculum in coding, engineering, and robotics are part of our STEM course offerings.

PBIS, MTSS & SEL-Aligned Practices: Promote schoolwide expectations, co-defined behaviors, and strength-based strategies that reinforce your school’s unique culture. Includes integrated supports for staff and student well-being, grounded in research-backed gratitude-based practices and aligned with PBIS, MTSS, and SEL frameworks.
School Culture & Belonging Supports: Strengthen student connection, belonging, and engagement through practices that reflect your school’s values. Supports HIDOE’s Strategic Plan Goal 1.2 and Nā Hopena A‘o, while improving attendance and complementing any SEL curriculum using our school culture tools.
Early Childhood Emotion Education (PreK–2): Help young learners identify and regulate eight core emotions through interactive, literacy-based instruction. Builds emotional awareness, supports positive behavior, and reduces classroom disruptions using our early childhood SEL program.
Character Education & Behavior Development (K–12): Strengthen decision-making, self-regulation, and executive function through a literacy-based character program. Includes elementary values, middle school decision-making, high school executive function skills, mental health, and family engagement resources.
Student Safety & Prevention Supports: Address vaping, bullying, and digital risk with systems and curricula for detection, deterrence, and life skills instruction. Designed to reduce behavioral incidents and support schoolwide safety using our prevention curriculum.
Academic Reentry & Connection Supports: Help students re-engage after extended absences or disciplinary transitions through live virtual instruction with certified teachers focused on academic recovery and skill gap closure. Reentry supports can be paired with life and social-emotional skills curriculum, including decision making, conflict resolution, and personal responsibility. Gratitude-based practices foster meaningful, strengths-based relationships between staff and students, supporting Tier 2 intervention efforts.

Enhance academic access, engagement, and STEM readiness through immersive digital learning tools and certified virtual instruction.
NGSS-Aligned Science for Diverse Learners: Engage grades 3–12 with interactive science lessons that blend real-time assessments, embedded lab measurement tools, and NGSS-aligned investigations. Includes standards-aligned activities, progress monitoring, and comprehensive reading scaffolds for struggling readers and multilingual learners through our digital science platform.
Adaptive Secondary Math Supports: Boost algebra readiness and address unfinished learning with standards-aligned, adaptive instruction for grades 6–12. Our digital platform provides ongoing formative assessment, real-time feedback, and flexible pacing for remediation or acceleration through our secondary math solutions and is backed by research-based evidence.
Foundational Math & Conceptual Fluency: Build number sense and fluency in K–5 students through a research-based program focused on conceptual understanding. Interactive tasks, visual models, and adaptive skill checks guide learning progression and support differentiation, with real-time dashboards for monitoring growth using our foundational math program.
Digital CTE Certifications & Tech Pathways: Offer students statewide access to 1,200+ mastery-based courses in CTE, STEM, and core subjects, including prep for Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Python, and IT fundamentals. Courses feature AR/VR simulations, project-based tasks, and align to industry recognized certifications through our CTE & STEM platform and curated certification course catalog.
College Readiness & Digital Test Prep: Prepare students for ACT, SAT, and SBAC success with a technology enabled platform offering personalized instruction in math, reading, writing, and science. Real-time diagnostics and adaptive assessments guide each student’s path, with flexible delivery models for in-school, afterschool, or remote prep through our college readiness platform.




4. Professional Development & Educator Support
Empower your team through evidence-based learning, mentoring, and leadership development aligned to your school’s unique priorities.
Co-Teaching & Mentoring for New Educators: Support emergency hires, J-1 teachers, and new educators through co-teaching partnerships and ongoing mentoring. Includes modeling of effective instruction, feedback cycles, and embedded collaboration with experienced staff to accelerate confidence, classroom readiness, and retention.
Structured Literacy (Science of Reading): Deliver professional development aligned to the Science of Reading with a focus on foundational literacy, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Sessions support general and special education teachers in implementing evidence-based practices to strengthen Tier 1 reading instruction.
School Culture & Well-Being Workshops: Offer engaging PD sessions that promote educator well-being, student connection, and a positive school climate. Topics include strengths-based relationships, gratitude practices, SEL integration, and reinforcing behaviors aligned to your learning community’s unique values or virtues.
Turnaround Leadership & Schoolwide Strategy: Access coaching and consulting from award-winning school leaders to support sustainable improvement. Services focus on building effective systems, strengthening instructional leadership, and aligning schoolwide strategies with data, stakeholder input, and continuous improvement processes.
Early Childhood Pedagogical Leadership: Provide consulting based on Finnish early childhood practices, emphasizing play-based learning, active classrooms, student voice, and teacher-led inquiry for PreK–2 leadership teams.
Cultivating Belonging & Persistence in Math: Engage teachers in strategies that reinforce student voice, academic ownership, and positive risk-taking. Workshops integrate social-emotional learning, gratitude science, and inclusive classroom culture practices to reduce math anxiety and strengthen engagement.
